Summer of summers

Free Online Dating

Apparently I say fuck a lot. who knew?

So much has happened. Midwest Music Camp, with all that 2nd chair oboe, 1st chair English Horn solo goodness it brought. My quintet people were probably the best group I’ve worked with for awhile, and Matt as the director made it fun. And…him..yep. Band camp wasn’t the same with out that guy.

Then, I jetted out to Denver for a week to visit with my sister and brother-in-law. He bought The Darkness for Xbox 360 the third day or so of my visit. Fucking AWESOME game. The little things, like the posters in the subway and To Kill a Mockingbird playing on a TV are wonderful. And the demon arms eating the hearts of the dudes you kill….mmm..hearts.

Now I’m just killing time at home (trying not to kill myself) until the next camp.

Lesson of the day: If a guy asks you to the movies, and especially if it’s a horror flick or a movie that’s been in theaters for awhile, watch out. Just sayin’

Band Camp no. 1

Summer means band!

I recently finished the first out of 3, Lions State Band Camp held here in my hometown. 216 people in the band. I made 1st chair for the 2nd year in a row despite my competition!

I hated/loved it. Long rehearsals SUCKED as did the food, but hey, dorm food sucks. The beds weren’t so comfy (I was in the guy’s dorm and there were…spots..on the mattress).
However, I did like the music, I had a few solos plus meeting new people was great fun!

As with most band camps, I knew some people there. One of which has expressed a..desire..to fuck me silly. To my delight, he was distracted by the most annoying blonde in the world :D. But, it was worth it, I have badASS chops now.

District band!

This past Saturday was district band in the South Central district. Overall, it was a good day. Waking up at 4:50 am wasn’t so hot, though. I liked our pieces, The Willows of Winter, by Brooks, Canticle of the Creatures, Today is the Gift by Hazo, and Guns Up! (I don’t remember some of the composers). I talked to quite a few friends that I haven’t seen in awhile, and because I was first chair in the 1234A band, I had a solo. It was rockin’. Our director was a bit odd, he reminded me of our old choir teacher..I’m not too sure whether that’s a good or bad thing, because that particular choir teacher wasn’t so good. After the day was done, I ate at chipotle. MMMMMM. and School of Rock was on last night.
